iCaaS sponsors the 2020 CIMSPA and Quest NBS Conference

We were delighted to be one of the sponsors of the sold-out CIMSPA and Quest NBS Conference in Derby last week. The one-day event featured well over 20 breakout sessions with high-value content, plus high-profile keynotes and updates on the progress towards a route to chartered status for all sport and physical activity professionals.

Organisations involved in the fitness and leisure industry joined together to celebrate their achievements – and do some serious networking.

Some of the fellow sponsors, exhibitors and speakers included Tara Dillon, CEO of CIMSPA; Phil Carr, CEO of My PT Hub; Swim England; Harlands Group; Future Fit Training and Active IQ.

There were so many other organisations who attended the event – too many to list here but we were very impressed with the calibre of keynote speakers and workshops at the event.

We are looking forward to hopefully taking part next year as we are very keen as a business to continue our work with the fitness industry to ensure data security & compliance for the sport and physical activity sector.

Protecting Client Data

Like most modern businesses, the fitness industry has grown increasingly reliant on modern tech and data storage. Protecting the data of your members is vital to ensure that you stay on the right side of the law and respect the privacy of each member.  But many people are still overwhelmed by the idea of data compliance.

But whether you store customer data on the cloud, on a secure hard drive or via a third party, the GDPR legislation is relevant to you.

Keeping customer information securely is increasingly important as people keep every bit of information about their lives online.

Whether you are part of a multi-site health club chain, an independent PT studio, or freelance PT, everyone working in the sport and  leisure industry needs to be increasingly mindful of the personal data they collect from users, customers and clients and what this information is used for.

Here at iCaaS, we keep on top of all the updates and changes in the regulation to make sure that you are implementing the latest processes and security procedures to ensure you continue to keep client data safe.

Your reputation is incredibly valuable, especially as people who work in the fitness industry come into contact with a wealth of personal information – some of which could be highly sensitive. This could include: name, address, email, ethnicity, payment/card details and medical information (e.g. height, weight, medical conditions, disabilities).
